Commitment
Being a member of The Unknown should mean something to you. We will strive to make The Unknown one of the primary guilds on our server through teamwork and positive play. Guild first, always.
The Unknown Rules of Conduct
Most rules for joining a guild are common sense. However, the following should be understood by all members at all times, whether participating in guild events or running with public groups.
1. Members will follow the ‘chain of command’ at all times. This includes when in ‘pick-up groups’. If you join a public party, you are accepting the Group Leaders authority from the off-set, and will obey all instructions regardless of your own opinions. If you have ideas to contribute or suggestions to make, you will do so in a polite and friendly manner, accepting the decision of the leader.
2. Members will treat all other players with the same respect as their guild members. We will not become involved in public disputes which could call the guilds reputation into question. This includes when posting in public forums.
3. Members will check regularly all guild methods of communication, especially the guild website.
4. Guild Chat is to be kept friendly at all times! Please avoid swearing or talk of an ‘adult’ nature. Try to ensure that any questions are responded to, and that nobody feels ignored.
5. Members will make a concerted effort to move in groups when in PvP zones. Players will try to remain within range of the group leader or, if appropriate, their party leader.
Ventrilo - Voice Communications
All members are required to download and install the Ventrilo voice communications software, and a working microphone is needed. Members should be logged on when taking part in organised guild events / raids. When in Ventrilo, swearing and talk of an ‘adult’ nature is not acceptable.
Raid Looting Rules
When taking part in guild events, especially in situations when set items drop, please be considerate to your team mates. The guild looting rules are as follows:
* If you require an item, it is for your class and you are of an appropriate level to use it, you may roll.
* If an item drops for your class, and another guild mate requires that item to complete a set, you will pass the item for them.
* If a potion drops that is suitable for your class, you may roll. Otherwise you should pass.
* All disputes will be handled by the party leader, whose decision is final.
Guild Taxes and Rare Items
Members should donate rare endgame item drops for classes other than their own to the guild vault. Items will be freely distributed to other guild members.
The guild will organise regular ‘farming’ sessions for crafting. Distribution will be based upon contribution.
Other forms of taxes and contributions will be determined when needed, however we will run a fair system that rewards members based on their input and commitment to the guild, and NOT on their rank or level.
Guild Activity Policy
Members of The Unknown should be active players. It is not necessary to class yourself as 'hardcore', but if you make a commitment to a group for a raid, you will try your utmost to be there at the agreed time.
Members should be able to commit to at least one scheduled guild event per week. As we progress further into the game, these commitments will become more important as we will rely on solid group structures.
If you are going away on holiday, please post on our forums including all your character names.
Alternate Characters
Alternate Characters (alts) may be accepted into the guild so long as they are active. We do however have an alt guild, which will be used for less active alts, such as banker or crafter characters or just for testing purposes and guild 'alt' events.
EMO Policy
The Unknown is a guild for mature, fun-loving players who do not wish to be burdened by EMO rage-quitters. If you choose to quit the guild in anger, you will not be welcomed back. Before quitting, talk to an officer and see if your issue cannot be dealt with in a more positive way.
Application
Please note: Aion is fairly restrictive in the number of members allowed in a single Legion - therefore places may be competitive, and you may be asked to switch to alternative 'The Unknown' guilds based on your activity and contribution.
The Unknown is seeking mature, active members only. To apply, please fill out an application on our website, and you will be contacted in due time. Thank you, and good luck!
